The game of chess is estimated to be some 1500 years old. It is hard to imagine all the variations of pieces and boards created during that period. Ours has been an evolution of its own as we sought a take on a functional item of art that provided visual, mental and physical entertainment.
The drawers below the playing surface are fully removable and designed to reside alongside the battlefield as the war ensues. Each box is sufficient for an army of sixteen and lined to insure safe residence until match day.
The pieces are expertly hand-turned and lined with 0.5mm cork for a stealthy advance to victory, whilst protecting the playing surface in the game of war.
We have noticed the popular gift item our chess set has become for those extra special occasions. Notable birthdays, successful business ventures and house warming, have all featured on the growing list. Upon request we are able to provide an engraving service to add a intimate level of detail to an already heirloom piece.
